He's been a part of newsrooms in Fort Wayne and Louisville before he joined the team at Eyewitness News in 2013. His hundreds of news stories over the years range from sit down interviews with former President Barack Obama to exclusive access to some of Indiana’s most iconic assets, down to the most simple:  how to bake the perfect pizza! His career comes from humble beginnings; the Indiana native grew up in the extremely small community of Bentonville which he will tell you is divided up among three counties for government services! He knew he wanted to pursue a career in broadcasting when as a child he would put the state map of Indiana in his parent’s living room chair and pretend to present the weather. Matt got his start with live television broadcasting during his junior year at Connersville High School and continued that experience with six TV internships while at Franklin College. He starts his day dark and early at 3:00 a.m. which makes him a frequent napper. In his spare time he enjoys discovering different places around central Indiana, trying new restaurants, adding to his sock collection, and traveling.
