      DAYLIGHT Season two // Equity

      People for Urban Progress (PUP) and Exhibit Columbus, with the support of the Cummins Foundation, bring you DAYLIGHT Season Two presented by Ambrose Property Group and Central Indiana Community Foundation. EQUITY Equity depends on systemic change and exists when outcomes are no longer predicted by an individual’s identity. How can design promote a better quality of life for our city? We will dive into this topic with Antionette Carroll, founder, President & CEO of Creative Reaction Lab and Brian Payne, President & CEO of Central Indiana Community Foundation.  5:30pm: Refreshments, networking, entertainment by Limelight 6:00pm: Opening remarks, DAYLIGHT Conversation commences 6:45pm: Community discussion About DAYLIGHT Season Two: This four-part monthly series brings together national and local thought leaders around the topic of inclusive design. In our second season, we will have authentic conversations on the realities of equity, dignity, and justice to define thoughtful and responsible design for our city.  About Antionette Carroll:   Antionette D. Carroll is the Founder and CEO of Creative Reaction Lab, a nonprofit educating and deploying youth leadership to challenge racial inequities impacting Black and Latinx populations. Within this capacity, Antionette has pioneered a new, award-winning form of creative problem solving called Equity-Centered Community Design (named a Fast Company World Changing Idea Finalist in General Excellence and Urban Design). Through this capacity, Antionette has received several recognitions and awards including being named a 2018 Echoing Green Global Fellow, TED Fellow, and Camelback Ventures Fellow. Additionally, in 2014, Antionette was named the Founding Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Task Force of AIGA: The Professional Association of Design. Currently, she’s an AIGA National Board Director and Chair Emerita of the Task Force working on long-term strategic initiatives such as the Design Census Program with Google and national Design for Inclusivity Summit with Microsoft. She’s the co-founder of the Design + Diversity Conference and Fellowship. About Brian Payne: Brian Payne is the president and CEO of the Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF) and The Indianapolis Foundation. CICF’s mission is to mobilize people, ideas and investments to create a community where all individuals have an equitable opportunity to reach their full potential—no matter place, race or identity. He is also the founder/artistic director of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail:  A Legacy of Gene & Marilyn Glick. The national consulting firm, Project for Public Spaces, chose the Indianapolis Cultural Trail as the best North American example of a big, bold, transformative project that is changing the way we think of cities and city life.  Brian presently serves on the boards of the Indy Chamber, Visit Indy, TeenWorks, and the Indiana Repertory Theatre. Locally, he serves as the board chair of The District Theatre and the vice-chair of the IUPUI advisory board. Nationally, he is the board chair of Forward Cities, an organization committed to helping cities build inclusive economic growth. About Exhibit Columbus: Exhibit Columbus seeks to celebrate Columbus’ design heritage while making it relevant to new audiences. Exhibit Columbus is the signature project of Landmark Columbus, which was created in 2015 to “care for the design heritage of Columbus and inspire communities to invest in the traditions and values that use architecture, art, and design to improve people’s lives and make cities stronger.” Landmark Columbus is a program of Heritage Fund – The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County.
