Using the LifeCourse to Create Strength Based Outcomes

The Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services, with support from the Governor's Council for People with Disabilities, is hosting a workshop specifically for professionals who work with individuals with I/DD and their families. Over the past three years DDRS and their partners have embraced the LifeCourse principles and continue to learn and explore new and innovative ways to support individuals in their pursuit of their vision of a good life. This workshop will assist you in creating strength based outcomes that are meaningful, purposeful, and allow for informed choice. Special guest Barbara Brent, Director of State Policy, National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services (NASDDDS) will facilitate the day while sharing her expertise and experience from the National LifeCourse Community of Practice team. Included in the day will be a panel of LifeCourse Ambassadors who will share how they have used and benefited from using the LifeCourse principles and tools within their organizations. The panel will include representatives from LEL Home Services, IPMG, Family Voices Indiana, INSOURCE, and The Arc of Indiana. A box lunch will be provided.
